Spiral Gestures and a Jester
July 6, 2017 — October 1, 2017
Metal sculptures wave across the wall and the painted surfaces cast glowing shadows which become part of the sculptural rhythm. I use washes of paint and sprinkled sand which disperses the paint to create a speckled, flickering luminescence like water or stone. I’m after a quality of light, movement and sparkling color that vibrates with life. - Diane Carr
Diane Carr taught art at colleges in Detroit and enjoyed a large downtown warehouse studio space. Now, with her studio in the northern Michigan woods she is surrounded by the source of her art.
